Everyday the conversation changes and so do the guest hosts I have on the air with me. I couldn’t do the show without their differing views and vast experience of simply being who they are!
Monday- Mary Burkett! Mary Monday’s as we call them. Mary loves to read, has ran for office and has an articulate way of telling it like it is. I love Mary’s candor. She has a Republican/Tea Party point of view and though we don’t always agree, this woman speed reads through so many books- she always amazes me with her interests and love for knowledge. She contacts guest hosts for show and usually because of a book she just read. I love that. She has common sense and great love and optimism for America.
Tuesday- Thomas Tuesdays (are you seeing a theme here? It wasn’t planned) Thomas Dyches has a libertarian take and a love for strict adherence to the Constitution. He has his own show, Pyrolitical Radio but manages to squeeze out some time to join me on the air. States rights, history, education, – his takes are always intriguing. He also puts his money where his mouth is and for fun, likes to travel up to watch the sessions taking place at the Utah Legislature. Yes, I said, for fun. He’s intelligent, gets it, and is a great presence on the radio. I love that.He joins me from 2-4 on Tuesdays after I have the show solo for the first hour.
Wednesday- Its Dallas Hyland day. How do I explain Dallas? Listeners have a love/hate relationship with Dallas. He is from the south, does not share in the same religious views as most ’round these parts and even though I describe him as our resident tree hugging, EPA loving liberal- he does possess a few conservative values. We rarely agree. He can argue and debate like no other. We always leave the studio friends, but his take on things will get you thinking. He is smart, is a journalist by trade, likes a good story and hates a bad bully. And when elected officials are the bully? Watch out. He reminds me of the actor Dan Haggerty from the 70’s show about living among the bears. Remember that? That’s Dallas.Gruff and rough but he has a heart of gold. He really does.
Thursdays- This day is open for special guests hosts, New York Times best selling Authors, celebrities and politicians.
Fridays- It’s Investigator Fridays with Dave Doddridge. Yes, we dare to talk about things not talked about. Dave is well traveled, a policeman and detective for LAPD for over 20 years and has a P.I. business. He has a libertarian stance. He loves talking global and foreign policy as he has traveled abroad into so many of the countries we chat about. He loves to talk conspiracy theories and getting to the truth of what’s behind the OZ like curtain. Dave brings a vast knowledge of current affairs to the show and even when we don’t agree, I find myself learning so much from him. A professor at our local State College is a fan of the show. He told me that listening to Dave for one hour on ISIS – he learned more in that hour than watching Fox News for years. He has a great take. You may not agree with him, but you will walk away thinking about the way you think of the world.
I am so lucky. I get to work with all of these individuals. They all make me laugh and that is most important thing. 😉
